Concurrent Session – 3C: Health & Social Justice in Aging Services

April 30, 2021

Learn from a researcher, the Minnesota Diverse Elders Coalition, and a community elder about the barriers to social and health justice in aging services. This session intends to not only educate on the impact of systemic racism and discrimination but provide recommendations to the attendees on the changes that are needed to see a difference in the outcomes. Minnesota consistently ranks among the healthiest and most senior-friendly in national studies. However, this is not true for everyone. Minnesota ranks as one of the highest in health disparities as a result of these systemic issues affecting communities of color and the LGBT community and their peers. Join us as we gather to educate one another and discuss solutions!
