Grief and the Holidays

December 15, 2022

Providing a space for grief during the holidays, particularly for aging adults, is a challenge. Acknowledging loss that may have occurred within the past twelve months is inevitable and, changed holiday traditions resulting from a loved one’s death or illness can throw a person off course. Ms. Ramirez will define the different ways in which grief can be experienced and share suggestions for different ways space can be made for grief as well as ways to remember loved ones over the holiday season. Cultural considerations and their impact on the grieving process will be discussed.
