In 2002 and 2012 a Twin Cities lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) aging needs assessment provided insights into aging within these communities. Another decade later a partnership between Rainbow Health and the University of Minnesota Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP) replicated these monumental studies into the Minnesota 2022 LGBTQ Aging Needs Assessment. The findings from this study show that significant change has occurred over the last decade, but there is more that must be done. Dr. Rajean Moone, principal investigator from the University, will present the results of the study and offer tips for working with LGBTQ older adults.
