Emerging Voices is the theme of the 46th Annual MGS Conference, April 7-8, 2022. Dr Laura Hemmy’s presentation will reflect one of those voices. Two research works, published in 2020, form the foundation of the content This talk will describe the current state of knowledge for brief cognitive assessment in older adults perceived to be at risk for cognitive decline. This will include a discussion of potential benefits and harms of testing, screening vs testing on indication, target populations and setting, types of tests and how to evaluate what is best to use when. Dr. Hemmy will address test characteristics and interpretation strategies as they relate to demographic, accessibility, and experience of healthcare for various populations.
